recruiting RNs (preferably with “pump” experience) and CDEs for
our June 14-20, 2008 camp.

New Jersey
Diabetes Camps 2008: NEJEDA is
recruiting RNs for our summer camps.
We are located in Stillwater NJ and
have a total of 7 weeks of camp.
We do local training for participating
nurses, who can receive CEUs for the training.
In addition, nurses receive
compensation for their services.
If nurses have children of their own that they would like
to bring, they need only pay the $50 registration fee.

The American Diabetes Association is pleased to

availability of two online CME programs designed for diabetes
healthcare professionals and educators.
1. "Insulin and Oral Hypoglycemic Agents:
Determining the Proper Combination"
This program includes 13 separate activities that
focus on:
The gap that exists between current oral
hypoglycemic and insulin
treatment regiments and the attainment of optimal blood glucose
levels
The effectiveness of aggressive treatment
regimens in helping patients
obtain their desired glycemic goals, especially with the use of
innovative therapeutic treatment options now available
Methods for clinicians and patients to receive
the education needed to
properly incorporate an aggressive therapeutic regimen into a daily
diabetes care plan.
2. "Progressive Approaches in the Treatment of
Type 2 Diabetes:
Indications and Innovations"
This program includes ten separate activities
that focus on:

Present and future therapies to correct incretin
abnormalities
Research studies involving agents that are
members of these innovative
drug classes
The potential role of these innovative agents in
the management of
patients with type 2 diabetes
Continuing education credits available for
physicians, podiatric
physicians, nurses, pharmacists, dietitians, diabetes educators, and
other health care professionals

Training session and receive your own complimentary set of 5
U.S. Diabetes Conversation Maps and facilitator guide. U.S.
Conversation Maps were developed in collaboration with the American
Diabetes Association and launched at the Scientific Sessions in
June. Training sessions will be hosted in our area over the next few
months (Philadelphia, Bethlehem, Harrisburg, Atlantic City,
Wilmington, and more). A meal is served with each session. Don't

Register to enroll in DM Educate™,
a web-based CE credit course that provides healthcare professionals
with a strong foundation in the principles of effective therapy and
management of diabetes.
Practitioners will be able to put this
information to immediate use in delivering quality, comprehensive
patient care.
DM Educate™ is an
individualized course of over 30 hours of CE credits with multiple
modules organized into sections.
Participants can complete as many
sections as they wish.
All registration, courses, evaluations,
and receipt of CE credit are completed on-line.
Contributing faculty are outstanding
educators and practitioners from the fields of pharmacy, nursing,
medicine, behavioral psychology, medical nutrition therapy, and
exercise physiology.
There is a flat fee of
$125 for the course with discounted fees to organizations purchasing
the course for 100 or more users.
The course is coordinated through the
University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy and made available
through the support of Novo Nordisk.
